City Year is an education-focused nonprofit organization that partners with public schools to help keep students in school and on track to graduate. CollegeSpring is a proud member of City Year’s Career Partnership program so our alumni can continue to make a difference in the lives of students. Students Rising Above

SRApostcard_front08

Students Rising Above is a comprehensive year-round program that provides college readiness support, tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, paid summer internships, career coaching and job training workshops, access to health care services, and financial assistance. SRA students are typically the first in their families to go to college and lack the financial resources and family support to fulfill their educational dreams. They are selected during their junior year of high school and work with a professional SRA Advisor and a volunteer adult mentor for five-plus years from high school, through college, and into the workforce. SRA’s students graduate college at a rate of 90% and within 12 months of graduation, more than 80% of alumni are either in career-ladder jobs or enrolled in graduate school.

In order to offer meaningful internship opportunities for its diverse, highly motivated college students, SRA forms mutually beneficial partnerships with a variety of employers. CollegeSpring has proven to be an ideal partner, providing rewarding mentoring positions that allow SRA students to be role models for younger students from similar backgrounds while building their own professional skills.
