1:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Panel Discussions

Panel 1 – Continuing Education: How can Organizations Adapt to the Current Social & Political Climate?

How are leaders navigating the need to adapt to a rapidly changing climate? In the age of rising nationalism, increasing income inequality, immigration debates, climate change, and #metoo, how do public and private organizations articulate their values and priorities? This panel explores how organizations are adapting to embody the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Leaders from the philanthropy, non-profit, and corporate sectors will discuss both the opportunities and challenges they encounter as they work to advance these priorities within their communities.

Panel 2 – What is the Future of Test Preparation in Education?

Stakeholders ranging from teachers to employers are deeply invested in the question of how to best prepare students to attend college and participate in the modern global workforce. Do standardized tests and test preparation services still play a crucial role in educating students for the twenty-first-century economy? What new trends or changes are on the horizon, and how will those impact students’ college access and beyond? Experts from the district, education, non-profit, and testing communities discuss how policies, technology, programs, and new modes of learning are evolving to create more equitable preparation for all.
