Technical Product Manager (REMOTE)


CollegeSpring is a nonprofit organization that equips schools and teachers with the tools to help students confidently prepare for the SAT, TSIA2 and ACT. These tests are a critical part of college admissions, and every student deserves a chance to prepare. Yet test prep courses and private tutoring are often costly or hard to access. Our programs reduce this inequity by bringing high-quality test preparation into schools. We build Test Confidence™ by training, supporting, and providing ongoing coaching to teachers at our partner schools to deliver the CollegeSpring curriculum to their students. Since 2008, CollegeSpring has helped provide school-day test prep to over 40,000 students across the country and we have an ambitious goal to serve 62,000 more from FY23-FY25.


This is an exciting opportunity to be CollegeSpring’s first Technical Product Manager. We are looking for someone who can lead the build-out of the systems, structures, and processes needed to create best-in-class programs. The Technical Product Manager will take the product strategy and define the roadmap, requirements, and execution for our student- and teacher-facing products to ensure students impacted by poverty have access to test preparation that is critical to unlocking postsecondary opportunities. 

You’ll succeed in this role if you’ve taken a new product or an idea with which many were unfamiliar and helped create shared understanding of the vision cross-functionally, leveraged market research to inform product roadmaps, solicited input to craft timelines and project plans to guide execution, navigated complex technology systems, worked within budget constraints, managed feedback loops and product enhancement requests, communicated often and in a solution-oriented and clear manner, and have balanced the needs of various stakeholders. You are the ultimate project manager, are incredibly organized, know how to manage up, down, and across, and put teachers and students at the center of everything you do. 



  • Manage the lifecycle of CollegeSpring products, managing the evaluation of feedback loop from customers, and setting up systems and plans for versioning and managing product updates cycle.
  • Manage our product roadmap based on our product strategy, requirements and create project plans to ensure smooth execution.
  • Deliver the minimum viable product (MVP) for our suite of products.
  • Partner with the Head of Programs and Impact to create product scorecards and KPIs to evaluate success and use that data to inform product roadmap.
  • Create and implement systems to support the product management lifecycle, including feature ideation and testing, product implementation, and student and partner feedback to continuously inform product requirements and roadmap.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise, propose solutions to address, and make adjustments to product development and management cycles that address the root cause of the problem. 
  • Liaise with external parties to advance product development efforts, particularly the LMS vendor, and serve as a connector between various stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of evolving market trends and partner needs to guide product roadmap and share findings with the Head of Programs and Impact. 
  • Collaborate with our Instructional Design team to ensure that courses and reporting are developed in accordance with product vision, timeline, and within budget.
  • Manage Technical Systems Administrator and oversee technical product builds and ensure software systems are  operating efficiently and meeting internal and external needs (including Salesforce and the day-to-day operations of the LMS and related data reporting systems).
  • Collaborate with our Sales and Partner Success teams to define a product implementation playbook to ensure our partners and their students realize the full benefits of our products and services.
  • Collaborate with our Growth Team to understand their needs in order to pitch and demo our products to prospective partners and funders.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Deep experience as a product manager with technical know-how allows you to support learning management system implementation and curriculum design and development for interactive and adaptive learning.
  • You have experience building the product management and development function and are known for your expertise in product life cycles, building project plans, and keeping them on track, communicating positively and effectively, and helping find a path forward when things go differently than planned.
  • Demonstrated strategist with experience bringing a new product to market, you have owned a product roadmap and vision from creation through execution. 
  • You proactively seek the advice of others, easily anticipate opportunities and risks, and position the organization to leverage this insight to advance your work. You have conducted market research and know how to gain buy-in from stakeholders at the right time in the process.
  • You know how to establish trust and build authentic relationships quickly in ways that engage, grow perspectives, build advocates, and drive action.

  • This role is remote within the United States; travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
