Two accomplished leaders join at a pivotal moment to help guide CollegeSpring’s next phase of growth and impact.
CollegeSpring is proud to announce the appointment of Linda Heasley and Jay Marshall to the Board of Directors. Both leaders bring decades of executive experience, strategic insight, and a proven track record of leading organizations through growth, transformation, and expertise that will be critical as CollegeSpring enters its next phase of expansion and impact.
As CollegeSpring continues to scale nationally and deepen its work across the country, Linda and Jay’s leadership will help guide our strategy, strengthen our partnerships, and ensure we continue delivering meaningful outcomes for the students and schools we serve.
Linda Heasley
Linda Heasley is an accomplished business leader of, and advisor to, public and private companies. With more than three decades of experience in senior leadership positions, half of which as CEO, she has developed deep expertise in evaluating business opportunities while mitigating risks. Her ability to ignite excitement through an organization while building teams has enabled her to successfully lead several turnaround and transformation efforts. She has operated in a broad range of industries and sizes of companies, with P&L responsibility from $200 million to $1.5 billion.
Linda is currently an advisor to several start-ups and early-stage entities, to whom she tenders consumer-related strategies and tactics. She has recently joined the Board of Catbird NYC, a Brooklyn based premium positioned jewelry company.
Linda grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from Harvard College, and has an MBA from Anderson School of Management at UCLA. In 2023, she completed the Harvard Business Analytics Program, and currently she is working toward her NACD certification. She is married and resides in Savannah, Georgia and Penobscot, Maine.
Linda’s experience leading organizations through growth and transformation will be invaluable as CollegeSpring continues to expand its reach and strengthen its operational and strategic foundation.
Reflecting on becoming a board member for CollegeSpring, Linda shared,
“As a student in high school, I was tapped to tutor classmates who needed help with homework, lesson plans, and prep for standardized tests. A path to higher education was always a focus for me and I aimed to share that with friends. Fast forward in my career, ensuring young people got the development they deserved in the roles in which they were placed became part of the responsibility of leadership. CollegeSpring brings me full circle to ensuring young people gain and preserve the ability to explore options…whatever they may choose to do be it higher education, vocational preparation, or military. I feel privileged to join Yoon Choi, CEO, Fred Crawford, Board Chair, and the incredible team at CollegeSpring in achieving its goals and objectives.”
Jay Marshall
Jay Marshall is a Partner and Managing Director and Chief Learning Officer at AlixPartners, LLP and a trustee of Princeton Theological Seminary. He is currently board chair at Pinnaql, Inc., a consulting partner to life sciences companies, and a board member at CollegeSpring, a non-profit that partners with schools to provide teacher-led test preparation. He was formerly board chair of TKXS, a B2B technology and solutions company, as well as a past chair of The Dallas Opera and board member of the Dallas Symphony Association, the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and Southwestern University.
Jay earned a BS in chemical engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Texas Graduate School of Business, where he was named a Sord Scholar and received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. He is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary.
He is a Senior Moderator at and a 1997 Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute, where he served on the Henry Crown Fellowship Program’s Board of Overseers, as well as a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Jay is married to Mary Beth Marshall, who serves in an Of Counsel position at Safe Horizon. They have two sons: Max is an author in Austin and is married to Rachael Bennett, founder/owner of Hine Fine Jewelry. Charlie is a PhD climate scientist doing post-doc work at the University of Connecticut. Jay and Mary Beth live in Wimberley, TX.
Reflecting on his decision to join CollegeSpring, Jay shared:
“I believe a college education is both the best ticket to social mobility and also the best investment we can make in ourselves. CollegeSpring is doing the important work of making that education more available by helping students navigate standardized testing, which is still the most complex and least understood hurdle that must be overcome. I’m thrilled and honored to join CEO Yoon Choi and board chair Fred Crawford at this exciting moment in the organization’s growth.”
Strengthening Our Next Phase of Growth
Linda and Jay join CollegeSpring at a pivotal moment. As we expand our reach and refine our model to serve more students nationwide, their combined expertise in leadership, governance, and organizational transformation will help ensure we scale with intention and impact.
We are honored to welcome Linda and Jay to the CollegeSpring Board and look forward to the leadership they will bring as we continue building pathways to opportunity for students across the country!
