Tina McCoy Hearn

 

Director, ACT Center for Equity in Learning

Tina McCoy Hearn is the Director of the ACT’s Center for Equity in Learning where she focuses on managing strategic partnerships with an emphasis on securing college and career pathways for underserved students and working learners. In addition to her externally focused responsibilities, she also manages the Center’s financials, oversees program management best practices, and is the executive sponsor for ACT’s corporate giving committee. Prior to joining the Center, Tina served as the Program Director for ACT’s Office for Innovation.

Tina’s prior experience includes positions with Pearson as the Senior Test Development Manager and Senior Project Manager supporting a number of state and federal assessment initiatives. Throughout her career, Tina has focused on providing services to support early interventions for programs such as HeadStart, development of state-wide secondary education assessments, and postsecondary professional and licensure certification and assessments in healthcare. She has managed test development and program teams to provide assessment services to national and state stakeholders with a focus on diverse populations including students with IEPs, English Language Learners, and those who are incarcerated.

Tina holds a BA in English with an emphasis on Secondary Education from the University of Iowa.
